School - Jay kumar jain ashram school : kochai

History

Total 608 students are learning in our school. All these students are from tribal community. The social and economical condition of these community is so poor. These people are too away from educational flow. There is not any background of education. The industries are here at Achhad, Umbargaon, and Vapi. They are eager to send their children to companies. We try to convince these parents to send their children to school.

Our institution Aadiwasi Pragati Mandal Talasari has started our Primary Ashram School Kochai in Academic Year 2003. Hon. Com. L. S. Kom is founder President of our institution . The beginning of our school is in one of the ruined house type shade. In 2007 Walk Together Foundation has arrived in our Kochai Campus. The revolution of our school has been started due to Walk Together Foundation Mumbai.

In 2008 the first shade was prepared for the hostel of Boys named Jay Kumar Jain Boys Hostel. Afterwards another shade was prepared for the hostel of girls named Mahadei Panmeshridas Jindal Girs Hostel. Then the std. VIII th was started in school in 2012. The secondary section has started on the name of Jay Kumar Jain Secondary Ashram School Kochai and the first G+1 building has made on the name of Jay Kumar Jain. In 2015 the second G+1 building has made for Junior college. Due to government policies we are unable to start it. But we try to start it in the next coming years. We have got the permission for Std.9 and 10 in Academic Year 2019.20 by Maharashtra Government. We have also got Index No. for Secondary Section.

Current Status

Today total strength of the students of our school is 608 of Std. 1 st to 10 th. In our hostel there are 400 students are residing. Out of them 223 students are boys and 177 students are the girls. The hosteller students are from different parts of remote area.

In our school there are primary and secondary section. In primary staff there are 8 teachers including Primary Headmaster.

In secondary section there are 5 teachers including Secondary Headmaster. There are 13 non teaching staff for Kitchen and school.

The result of Std. 10 th is 100% in March 2021 and March 2022. Total 32 Students are in Distinction and 20 students are in First Class out of 68 students in March 2022. Many Students achieve success in Scholarship Exam last year. They have got cash prize from government.

Achievements

Our 2 Science teachers has got training “ Construnctivism In Hands on Teaching Workshop “at Hyderabad. One of our teacher has got special training for “Bal Bhavan”. Some expert teachers are working with students to make Bal Bhavan for Std 1 st to 7 th where teacher and students make teaching aids for better Education and enhance the ability of every students with the help of teaching aids to understand particular topics. We have maintain education friendly atmosphere in or school.

In sports our students also achieved great success. This year under 17 Volleyball Boys team has got Second rank and won Silver Medal at State level. Under 14 Volleyball girls team has also got success at State level.

Sir we are extremely grateful to Walk Together Foundation. Due to your cooperation we achieve success. Before Walk Together’s entry in our institution our infrastructure is so poor. We had not built a single permanent structure in our campass. But today there are couple of two storeyed building. There are separate Toilets and Bathroos for Girls and Boys. There is a well equipped Laboratory. We have started ‘Bal Buvan’ for the students development in our school. All these things are possible because of Walk Together Foundation.
